World Menopause Day - Changing women's lives

100% of women will go through menopause in their lifetime, however it can be a difficult and confusing time for many.

1 in 3 women feel uncomfortable speaking up to a manager at work regarding their health, in addition to 1 in 10 people leaving their place of work because they are not being given the support they need. A recent survey from Gympass also found that 81% of women said their employer does not provide them with menopausal support. Organisations need to be actively supporting and creating positive environments for employees, encouraging them to open-up.

Menopause is a natural transition in a woman’s life; however, it can often bring feelings of increased stress and anxiety. Almost 900,000 women in the UK have quit their jobs due to menopause.

Menopause awareness day on October 18th raises awareness around the support options for improving women’s health and wellbeing, with an attempt to start conversations on the topic and minimise the stigma that surrounds it.

Here at Wellity, we’re on hand to support your employees. A popular session we offer is ‘Women’s Health Matters’. From periods to menopause, millions of women in the UK say their work life is affected by female health-related issues. This session will raise awareness of some of the specific issues affecting the modern woman and the role we all play in tackling stigmas and making every workplace inclusive for all.

Key objectives that we cover include:

• Exploring unique health challenges faced by women

• Working with your cycle

• Identifying needs around fertility and parenting

• Managing wellbeing whilst navigating life stages such as menopause
